The Word, The Will, The Way

divine-sparkIn the beginning was the word.  The word was with the Divine and the word was the Divine.  All things were made by the word and without the word nothing was made.  In the beginning the Divine sent out sparks from itself, sparks of potential love, kindness, compassion, and generosity.  Some of these sparks became angels of light and some incarnated as humans into the earth worlds.  Each spark held the ability to activate the Divine Mission of Grace and Benevolence but few understood how to properly use the word, the will, and the way.  And so chaos, confusion, and the darkness of selfishness became manifest causing extreme suffering for all life.

Every human on our planet is a spark of Divine Potential a piece of the Great Plan of Grace and Blessing intended from the beginning of time.  Potential means: possible or likely although not yet actual; powers or resources not yet developed or made use of; a latent possibility.  Therefore, when we have not yet discovered or manifested our divine purpose, we must incarnate again and again to demonstrate our part of the Divine Mission.

nytimes-word-cloud_2In order to accomplish this, humans have been gifted with the word, the will, and the way.  The word is thought, focused intention and attention on what we believe, know, and consider important.  Words are constantly filling our mind.  Even in meditation we notice thought/words and decide not to focus on them.  The word/thought we continually pay attention to, believe and know is true becomes infused with Will.  Will is thought fortified through emotions.  When the word/thought is present and we engage our feelings and emotions with that thought it becomes manifest.  The manifestation of thought/word as a tangible experience is the creation of the Way.

Example: If I am convinced that I’m not very smart, or confident, or lovable there will be a dialogue taking place in my mind that persuades me this is true.  It may be the inner voices of my parents, teachers, or the words may be coming from remembering a past event which didn’t turn out the way I wanted.  When I have those thoughts/words I have emotions that arise- fear; anger; sadness; disappointment; or pain.  Therefore, when encountering a new situation or individual I have already decided how it will turn out and most likely that will be the case.  I have used my words, my will, against myself to create a way that proves I am a loser.

If you do what you’ve always done, you will get what you’ve always got.  If you think what you’ve always thought, you will feel how you’ve always felt.  If you feel what you’ve always felt, you will get what you’ve always got.

quote

The power of the word, will, and way is irrefutable.  We can see it clearly in the lives of people around us and if we look we will see it in our lives as well.  But we are NOT POWERLESS!  Inside each of us is a Great Being waiting to be actualized through thoughts, feelings, and acts of loving kindness, compassion for all life, generosity to those in need; determination to bless instead of curse; and a fearless heart that refuses to accept the suffering of the world.

We have two selves.  A small, self-centered, egocentric self and a Great, selfless, benevolent self.  Everyone has activated the egocentric self that’s how we got our ticket to this life.  Few have taken the energy necessary to activate the infinite potential of Great Self.  Spirituality is the path out of suffering and into becoming the answer to all the prayers pouring out to Divine Spirit every minute of every day.

Monitor the words you say to yourself.  Change those words to kindness and compassion.  When you immerse in loving kindness to self give kindness away to others- the Way of Love, the Way of Grace, the Way of Blessing will manifest all around you.  What we focus on increases.

Remember, we can only add our piece to the great picture of Divine Goodness so we may be disappointed that our efforts don’t change the entire world.  But if we refuse to add our spark to the Divine Goodness Mission nothing will ever change.

In this time of fear, doubt, and disillusionment it’s essential that people of good heart, everywhere, use the power Divine Spirit has entrusted to us (The Word,The Will, The Way) to ensure that All beings shall be freed from suffering!

Laughter Will Set Us Free

Sometimes there is a misconception that a person of Spirit will be loving, joyful, and peaceful continuously.  Then, if we are not able to maintain that equanimity, we are bad;  a sinner, a failure, a slacker, etc.  The inner critic finds endless words to assign to us if we are not consistently impeccable in our practice.  90315ea1ea84f593ae080942d2192382This is the myth of perfection.  We often associate words like omnipotent, all-seeing, and perfect with the Higher Power energy.  So if we are not perfect- as that Great Spirit is thought to be perfect- we  believe we must do atonement, or that we deserve to be punished.

Laughter shall set us free and love shall lift up the world are suggestions.  If that’s not where we are today, it’s best to accept that fact and not attempt to pretend to give what we don’t have or want to give away.  Anger, fear, pain, and grief are part of life’s experience.  There is a wide spectrum of expressing these emotions from mild to intense.  The same is true of our encounters with loving kindness, generosity, compassion, joy, and even peace.  They come and they go. This is the human condition.

The path of Spirit can teach us that uncomfortable or unpleasant energies are not unwelcome guests that have moved into our home for an indefinite period of time.  Even underneath an intense expression of anger, fear, pain, and grief-  there exists the potential for love, joy, and peace later on.  In being real, we express love, joy, and peace- only when we are actually experiencing those energies. This is not an invitation, however, to become a domineering, violent, and controlling individual giving away our anger and pain to others- It is an invitation to understand where we are in the moment. When surrounded by seemingly endless difficulties try this affirmation:  I accept myself as I am in this Now, and I surrender to love, joy, and peace in this Now.  We can have love, joy, and peace, even if things are not perfect.

helen-keller-quotes-i-am-only-one-but-still-i-am-one-i-cannot-do-everything-but-still-i-19671As a child, we could overcome, what seemed to us then, a great tragedy often within five minutes.  As we grow up we learn how to hold on to our pain.  This is why we so often fall out of love or friendship. We rehearse our pain stories, our betrayals, and our upsets. We become addicted to the perfection myth- in ourselves and in our partners. But if we can forgive ourselves for making mistakes, it will become easier to forgive others for their mistakes as well.

Let’s look at laughter shall set us free from the standpoint of play.  A play is a story drama.  If the tale is only about joy, light, peace, and love, nothing appears to happen in that story.  Soon we are bored and seek out a play, movie, or book that has some challenges and problems for the hero to solve.

It isn’t the goal of life to be problem-free.  It’s the goal of our lives to figure out what to do with the problems we encounter.

When obsessing on the difficulties of our lives, are we working through our problem or just reviewing them over and over- with no solution in sight?  Challenges are a part of life.  350878 Suffering is the endless repetition of a painful energy.  Finding a sense of humor can work wonders on the obsessions of the mind. Laughter can be used to free ourselves from suffering.

When we laugh we free up inner wisdom so we can figure out what to do.  We must learn to listen to the still small voice within. This means we have to be quiet long enough to hear it.  Take time to walk with nature, sit by a lake or a river, watch the grass grow, lean to meditate.  In the silence we can find our way back to beauty and grace.

To have a joyful life, obsess on- smiling through the doorways, enjoying the sunrise, count your blessings, or if possible- accept yourself in the Now.  The path of Spirit can be fun, but not if you’re afraid of yourself.

575412_373889212646105_100000750870618_938814_1388775618_nGratitude is an endless focus on the positive.  Grace means that through the loving kindness of another person we let go of something and it changes our lives. Everything is temporary.  Let yourself be free in the energy of life.  Find your laughter.  It will lead you to Love!

Life is a Journey

Humans seem very attached to struggling and striving.  We strive to be perfect, and struggle to succeed.  When we’re not struggling or striving for a goal we quickly become bored.  But there is no one in control of our existence- but ourselves!

struggle_for_existence_by_chryssalis-d2zg74f

Many times it seems that others actions and word or certain difficult circumstances control us, or we feel we have been pushed out of Spirit Truth by the uncooperative attitudes of the people around us.  It’s easy to feel powerless and victimized.  We are surrounded by stories of abuse, pain, and hatred.  Sometimes  these things happen to us, or to someone we know.

In times of great stress, pain, sorrow, or anger we can empower ourselves by validating and accepting what we feel.  These feelings are not wrong and the feeling themselves don’t mean there is something wrong with us.  It means we are feeling- sad, stressed, hurt, or angry.  Assigning a judgment to our feelings- or the feelings of others- means we believe there is a right way to feel and a wrong way to feel.  All humans, at some time, will experience anger, fear, pain, and grief.  Just as all of us will experience love, joy, peace, and enlightenment sometimes.

theStruggle

So when we are finished being angry, frustrated, worried, sad, and depressed- it’s perfectly possible to move into more pleasant emotions.  But this doesn’t happen easily if we are unwilling to practice compassion for the self that is suffering.  We want to give away compassion and healing to others in pain what if we practice giving that same forgiveness and support to ourselves when we are suffering?

The reason we keep falling into suffering is that we expect our outer world to mirror back to us Great Spirit’s Truths of love, joy, and peace.  But what the world mirrors back to us is our own frustration, challenges and depression.  So what if-  what if we allowed ourselves to laugh more often?  What if we appreciated the small joys of each day?  What if we see life with the eyes of compassionate understanding?  What if we make other people more important then ourselves- once in a while?  What if this was your last day on earth?

Great Spirit, I step into Your light and Your song.
I surrender into peace.
I am held and filled with joy.
I open my heart
And reach out to embrace my brothers and sisters.
May our dreams shine forth
like a rainbow’s of promise.

May the winds of time blow me into the arms of Wisdom.
May the days and nights of my earthly life
blend into an eternal experience of Your grace.
May the swiftly flowing years
of my existence bring me
to the practice of loving compassion.
May the turning of the seasons teach me
to be patient and wait for the changes
that will bring me joy.

Determination

Thousands of years have passed and during all of that time humans have fought, killed, plundered, and wronged each other in every possible way. But also during that same time, many others  have quietly, and patiently persevered in art, crafts, inventions, creative ideas, loving compassion, forgiveness, kindness, wisdom, and the creation of beauty.

When bad things happen most people endeavor to go on- to find food, water, shelter, and loving relationship with others.  This determination deep within the human heart is a gift of The Great Weaver, the Spirit of All Life. It is from millions of creative individuals, filled with this spirit of life, most of them unnoticed and unknown in the upheavals of history, that  the good, beautiful, inspiring, and lasting things originate.  It is their gifts that are the sum of true humanity.

The sun and moon have risen for a million, million years and they still do this enthusiastically every day. The birds have been singing forever, even on the day they die. The seasons come and go- but in every season there is something new to appreciate. Life is happening!  Life is continuously happening!  And it will continue to express itself with determination, courage, fortitude, and purpose.

Let us remember that whatever needs to be done will manifest more readily when we remember laughter, play, and spontaneity.   A new day always dawns bright and blue with promise and hope- a blessing after life’s black and damaging storms.

As the birds greet the day with joyous song may we remember to greet and rejoice in the presence of Spirit in our lives. May we have enthusiastic courage to persevere no matter how many unpleasant burrs are sticking to our socks at the moment.

Spirit speaks to us through meadows,
forests, valleys, hills,
and on the Holy Mountain.
She calls to us in rain, snow, and morning dew,
through waves of the sea and the splendor of the sun.
He expresses hope in the brilliance of the stars and in the
storms, thunder, lightning, and rainbows.

Spirit comes to us when we are alone.
Answering our call through Ancient Wisdom
and the voices of angels.
Spirit will speak to us through the end of time
For we are the Beloved Children
of Great Mother & Great Father.

Beloved-Help me flow into Your heart of eternal love,
that place where it is impossible to be alone.
May I freely express my great love
and my longing for Your Grace!

Master give me the courage to go forward
and the inspiration to do this in beauty.
Show me how to keep what is worth keeping
from the experinces of my life,
and with the breath of kindness
allow all else to be forgotten.
May I truly live my life to its fullest potential today!

Service

When we observe a problem in someone’s life we often react by trying to fix it through advice or suggestions.  We call this response, compassion when actually it is sympathy.  One of the important qualities necessary to a worker of the light is detachment about our needs, our desires, and our contribution. Detachment is the ability to see another in pain and ask them if they want or need our help.  Detachment is accepting the answer- “No!” Detachment is also letting go of what we cannot change and working to change what we can- about ourselves.

A gift given grudgingly or with the expectation of how it will be used or received is no gift at all.  When we are kind to people we believe are inferior, or less than ourselves, what we offer is condescension, not compassion.  We are taught that there is merit in serving the poor, the downtrodden, the helpless, and the hopeless.  But if we perform  those same acts of kindness, assistance, and service because we see others as our brothers and sisters such service becomes an Act of Grace.

Perhaps the greatest wrong of our culture is to see people in pain, and throw money at them to make them go away.

May we remember that we were sent here to make the world a better place than it has ever been before. At the center of the Spirit Path is a loving heart that wants the best for every person. Anything we can do to help foster the intellect, spirit, and emotional growth for our fellow human beings, that is our job. Those of us who hold this great vision must continue against all odds. Our life does not belong to us…it is given to us to make of it a gift to all beings.

May we become at all times:
A protector for those without protection-
A guide for those who have lost their way-
A ship for those with oceans to cross-
A bridge for those with rivers to ford-
A sanctuary for those in danger-
A lamp for those without light-
A place of refuge for those who lack shelter-
And a servant to all in need.

Your heart is calling…Great Spirit is calling…will you answer the call?

ImageGreat Spirit, may I learn to go about my ordinary activities
sowing the seeds of happiness.
If others don’t seem to appreciate my heartfelt sharing,
let me release those seeds to the Winds of Spirit
trusting that they will eventually find a place to grow.

My heart hurts when I see the pain of the world,
And I want to do something to make it go away.
Teach me how to drown my pain
in the joy of Great Mother’s song.
Teach me to accept with grace the things
I cannot change.
Help me to understand what I truly need,
and what others truly need.
Help me to humbly serve You in those around me.
Show me my job
and assist me to do it fully.

Great Spirit, help me to be the best worker of the Light
You have ever seen!

More About The Path

Remember our true nature is Divine Light. Our true nature demands sharing, love, joy, laughter, healing, knowledge, and understanding. When we do not have these things we become miserable. We want to hide from or lash out at the world around us.

It is our true nature to be compassionate and loving.
It is our true nature to create beauty.
We are the beloved children of Great Spirit.
Children always partake of the nature of their parents.

Image

Remember this when you think there is something wrong with you. Say, I am beauty. I am loved.  I am creative.  I am healing.  I am laughter.  I am the beloved child of Mama and Poppa Light- there is nothing wrong with me!

.Image

Nothing that has taken place in our life is wasted. We can learn from any experience but it is helpful to remember that Great Spirit is not experimenting on us, testing us, or doing something to us, or making us pay back our karma.  Bad things happen to even good and innocent people as well as evil, destructive people.

It is our purpose as the children of Great Spirit to remember that love, joy, peace, and abundant life are always possible. We can learn from unpleasant challenging circumstances and then let them go.  We can transform our anger and hatred into peace and love.  We can transform our pain and grief into joy and peace.

Whatever we deny, whatever we cannot accept grows stronger every day.  Acceptance starts with the ability to know what we do not want and gracefully deal with it if it comes our way. Denial  means going to extraordinary lengths to justify clinging to pain, anger, grief, disapproval, and persecution. Let us decide to use denial to remove pain, grief, fear, and anger in our lives. Let us instead claim our true heritage of love, compassion, healing, wholeness, magic, joy, kindness, and beauty.

There is a divine purpose for our existence.
Nothing is impossible for a loving soul.

Blessed are they who hear The Master
speaking in their souls.
Blessed are they who take from her mouth
words of comfort.
Blessed are those ears that hear
the secret whisperings of spirit
and heed not the deceitful whining of the world.
Blessed are those eyes closed
to the distracting desires of the material world.
Blessed are those who daily perform
works of compassion, service, and sacrifice for others.
Blessed are those who seek to discover
and manifest only the Divine Will
of love, joy, and peace.
Blessed are those wholly committed to this service!

May I do likewise,
this day and all the days that I shall live!

Miracles

In the space of true prayer we have the power to bring about miracles.

All of our lives we have heard about miracles. Maybe we always hoped to be present when a miracle occurred.  Spirit has assured us that miracles are possible. Saints tell us the beginning of miracles is the recognition of the blessings we already have in our lives and the willingness to allow more blessings to flow to us and through us.

Miracles happen when we allow them to happen. It is the allowing that is difficult. We must learn to let go of control so the natural laws of spirit can take place.

courage4

When we bring the two energies of faith and surrender together
almost anything is possible.

It seems to be a tendency of the human mind to obsess on one thing or another.  When we feel lack or limitation we constantly think about it, problem-solve it, and talk about it. What might happen if we use this tremendous power to focus on our GOOD?  Miracles occur when the good things in life are what we focus on…for what we focus on increases.

In order to make things happen, we need our egos.  In order to have desire, we need our egos.  In order to know who we are, we need our egos. When we want to be enlightened, ego is a hindrance.  When we want to be liberated, ego is a hindrance.  When we want to allow miracles, ego is a hindrance.

The only focus worth having is on joy, love, and peace.  Letting go of anything that is not love, joy, and peace takes determination.   Having the strength and wisdom to do these things requires discipline, prayer, meditation, and constant practice.

Miracles happen when we know the Laws of Spirit better than we know the material influences that prevent miracles from happening.

rocksBeloved Spirit of All Life,
Many times we come to a resolution
to leave behind old habits
and establish new and beautiful ones.
Many times we failed.
But today we shall make all things new
and with your help we shall succeed.
Through your grace we will focus on joy
and create more laughter.
Through your grace we will focus on love
and create more affection.
Through your grace we will focus on peace
and create more harmony.
Through your grace we will focus on our gratitude
and create more opportunities to share.
Together with you, Beloved, we shall touch Spirit.
Together with you, Beloved, Miracles shall unfold.

Grace

Grace is Great Spirit’s interference in our lives. It is Spirit’s way of canceling out our focus on pain and suffering.

Grace is the ability to let go of the painful experiences of this now so we can accept the possibilities of Great Spirit’s gifts.  Grace is what happens when we give up trying to fix and manage things and say, “HELP!  Grace gives us the ability to visualize a new possibility. It gives us the strength to forge ahead with our vision even when we don’t see how it can happen.

veilmed

When Spirit Grace  does not seem to change our situation, let us remember that the point of grace is to fill us with love, joy, and peace. When we are filled with grace we can love others even when they do not return that love.  When we react to the criticism or judgment of others, they are directing our life.  But when we choose to respond with love or peace Great Spirit is directing our life.

We may never see the sun and moon dissolve into nothingness and all the stars fall from the heavens. Yet there will be times when our world comes unhinged and the foundations of our faith cracks or dissolves.  It is then, most of all,  that we must seek grace. And through that grace we will once again find the faith, to believe that Spirit is at work in the world even through the turmoil and pain.  It is through grace that we are led to remember that Spirit’s power is greater than all evil, pain and even death.  And though our world may rock and sometimes break, it will, in time, be transformed into beauty once more by Spirit’s love.

Karma or Grace?

The Law of Karma is the law of cause and effect.  Everything we do has an effect on everything else, even not doing has its consequences.

The Law of Spirit is forgiveness and Grace.  The Law of Grace means forgiving others and forgetting our pain and grievances even as Great Spirit forgives us- “I do not remember that you have ever offended me.”

Many times it seems easier to choose the Law of Karma rather than the Law of Grace.  When we are in pain, when it is clear that someone has facilitated putting us there, we want justice.  We want retribution.  We want to even the score.

The Law of Grace is forgiveness.  Forgiveness brings freedom to everyone involved.  Forgiveness recognized our pain, and allows for an expression of that pain in a non-harm and non-returnable form.  Forgiveness is taking back our ability to be happy from a damaging situation, or person.  Forgiveness is saying it doesn’t matter if the other apologizes or not, I am still okay.

Karma is created from attachments.

My Spiritual Master has shared that karma is present only when spirit is absent.  She has shared that when spirit is real– forgiveness is available.  She has told us that grace comes to those who accept the forgiveness of spirit and begin their life anew.

A worker of the light is one who lives consciously.  This means having a reason for what we do and knowing what that reason is before we take action.  In this way we will have little need for regrets and apologies.

The Sacred Hoop of life is happening all around us in the natural world.  In the human world, the Sacred Hoop often seems to be broken.  It is broken when we cling to thoughts of pain, betrayal, and anger.  It is broken when we think more of ourselves, and our needs than is strictly necessary for survival.  Freedom comes through detachment to the one thousand and one things.

Beloved, help me to forgive others.
Assist me to see that they
are striving to be comfortable, safe, and happy
just like me.

Today, Beloved Masters,
I ask your help in remembering the Rules of Spirit:
Prayer as the road.
Good deeds as the vehicle.
Meditation as the food.
Mantra as the conversation.
Your heart my destination.

When I remember the rules,
I easily cultivate an attitude of
faith, peace, trust, and confidence.

May I remember to let go of all my attitudes
that prevent the miracle
of my life from unfolding in grace.
May I remember that-
Nothing is impossible
of a beloved child
of Great Spirit.
